Registered Veterinary Technician
The Registered Veterinary Technician participates in daily patient care; assist with surgery and appointments. The RVT assists with surgical, medical and radiology procedures, sedation and patient recovery, maintenance of medical records, equipment and supplies, as well as the implementation of orders issued by veterinarians.

What you will do:
Prepare patients, instruments, equipment and all necessary materials for appointments and medical procedures
Deliver and monitor anesthesia
Assist in medical procedures
Perform radiographs and technician appointments
Administer and dispense medications and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian
Providing emergency first aid or general nursing care
Client education - providing information on patient home care
Perform and record TPR on patients
Observe and report on the behaviour and condition of animals in clinic
Collaborate with the team to provide the best in hospital and patient care for our pets.
Perform life saving and life enhancing procedures such as dental cleanings and feline neuters with the latest equipment at your fingertips.
Gently and skillfully obtain and run diagnostic samples, using Fear Free techniques.
Share you expertise and knowledge with pet families and your colleagues to further the best healthcare for the pets through technician centred wellness appointments (eg, weight and diet consultations, nail trims, etc).

What you will bring:
A RVT degree/diploma or equivalent
An enthusiastic personality and excellent interpersonal skills
Strong professionalism and have excellent verbal and written communication
Problem solving skills
Strong time management and organizational skills
Ability to multitask and be adaptable
Have completed a Veterinary Technician/Technologist or Animal Health Technician/Technologist program
Knowledge of veterinary recommended diets and of veterinary medicine and veterinary technology and governance
An innovative, flexible, resilient and collaborative spirit
Willing to prioritize the needs of patients, their parents, team mates, and the hospital while growing skills and self actualization
